The Wisdom of Bob Davie

If you're reading this, you probably know me and have likely requested that I start a blog such as this.  Wish granted...

A few ground rules which will probably not be strictly upheld:

1. No team, school, coach, fan base, broadcaster, network, or adult beverage distributor is above reproach (that means you, Zima drinking University of Virginia Cavalier fans who can't wait to see Mike London cry during Mike Hogewood's weekly Raycom broadcast).

2. This will not devolve into a forum to bash individual players, though all players who perform exceptionally stupid acts are pretty much fair game.  I'm looking at you, Stephen Garcia.

3. I operate under the assumption that Cam Newton did get paid by Auburn.

4. A weekly Top 25 ranking will be posted.  Teams will be ranked based on how good I think they are at that moment.  A team's future schedule will not be taken into account, and if LSU beats Tennessee because Derek Dooley's daddy didn't teach him how to count, both teams will be credited with a loss.  All wins and losses are not created equal...this is not Canada.

5. Discussion of recruiting will be kept to a minimum, as will playoff talk.  Yes, I think a playoff would be good for college football, but it's not happening anytime soon.  Deal with it.

6. I'm just an idiot (albeit an informed idiot) with computers and opinions, and probably too many of both.  I don't like to make predictions, so don't blame me if you lose money when Purdue doesn't cover the spread against Indiana.  That's your fault for betting on crappy games.

7. Despite my allegiances, I will remain as objective as possible when it comes to material here.  Let's call it subjective objectivity.

8. Football is fun, and this is meant to be fun.  Don't take anything personal, unless you happen to be Les Miles.  Les, if you're reading this, I do genuinely dislike you.  This is also probably the last time the LSU head clown will be referred to by name on this blog.

By this point, you may be asking yourself, "What does this post have to do with Bob Davie?"  Absolutely nothing, which is pretty much what his wisdom amounts to.
